Black Sheep Collective: News From Lockdown | Keeping our comminity connected ... |
POSTED BY BLACK SHEEP COLLECTIVE ON 15/05/2020 @ 8:00AM Since we have had to close Bar Bar's doors due to the government regulations, we have been trying to keep our community connected, supporting our committed groups and their members as much as possible ... Bar Bar Black Sheep may be closed right now, but Black Sheep Collective are still supporting our community! copyright: black sheep collective / bar bar black sheep As you all know, these times are testing and to try and keep your spirits up and retain motivation can be a real upward battle. We want to remind you that this situation will not last forever and we cannot wait to return to some sort of normality.
Bar Bar Book Club
This week we had our first virtual book club meeting, which was amazing. It was a lovely opportunity to see familiar faces and have a moment of escapism which was bliss. It was a great reminder that each of our members is going through the same experience and have such a positive outlook on things.
It really demonstrated the positives of being part of a supportive group and we are all so excited for the next meeting. We did get round to discuss books, podcasts, films and TV that are getting us through the lockdown. We left with some awesome recommendations.
Bar Bar Bookworms
Our Bar Bar Bookworms have also been getting involved whilst in lockdown. The members have been reading the book at home and then having a great time completing tasks based on the book. Creativity is still alive!
For more information about resources or our Bar Bar Bookworms group please get in touch. All resources are free.
Our Go Fund Me campaign
We want to thank everyone who has supported us so far by donating to our Hug In A Mug GoFundMe campaign. Every penny contributes to ensuring that we can re-open Bar Bar once again once lockdown ends.
The amount of community support is inspiring and we cannot wait to be able to have a coffee and conversation in person rather than via your internet connection!
We hope everyone is keeping well during the lockdown. It is a challenging time for everyone and we hope our initiatives allow people to keep in touch with each other. Keep telling yourself that staying at home is about supporting others and ensures that lives are saved.
I know we are all being bombarded with Zoom meeting requests, snacking too much and binge-watching whatever we can on Netflix, but you are not alone and we want to remind you that we are all experiencing this too.
Lots of love from all of us at the Black Sheep Collective and we'll see you soon. Until next time ...
