Bar Bar Book Club Challenge 2019
The Bar Bar Book Club has been running here at Bar Bar Black Sheep in Wolverton for almost three years now.
We have read an amazing selection of books in that time, from political fiction to heartbreaking real-life stories. Some of our favourites included 'I know this much is True' by Wally Lamb, 'A Thousand Splendid Sun's' by Khaled Hosseini and 'The Nightingale' by Kristen Hannah.
At each meeting, we always have colourful discussions about our thoughts, which at times are brutally honest. Being able to have these open discussions in a safe space like Bar Bar Black Sheep is great, and we have attracted an impressive number of members.
"When 2019 came around, we wanted to do something a little different!"
We wanted to set a challenge for our members. The Bar Bar Book Club Challenge allows people to read at leisure, but they have to find books that hit each challenge point. Anyone can join the challenge as you don't have to be an active member.
See the rules and challenge below we hope you will join us:
You don't have to complete the challenge in the order it is given below
You can start the challenge at any time during 2019
Ensure you write the book below each challenge when you have completed it
Feel free to keep notes or recommendations of the books
Books set as part of Bar Bar book club are also eligible to go towards your reads
We have a shelf of books available at Bar Bar Black Sheep
At the end of the year if you completed the challenge in full you will receive a certificate and a coffee voucher from Bar Bar
Why not join our online Bar Bar Book Club group which you can find by clicking here. Our next meeting is on Monday 8th April at 7:00pm at Bar Bar Black Sheep in Wolverton. We have been reading 'The Cows' by Dawn O'Porter.
From now on I will be sharing our thoughts and opinions of our book club reads on this blog, so do stay tuned for next month book club high lights.
Until next time ...
