Chris Parker has some amazing juggling and circus skills!

Chris Parker (Parkie) here! I've been into juggling and circus skills ever since I went to the Brighton Juggling convention in 2003. I'd learned the basics of juggling before then, but the amount of skill and the variation in talent there blew me away, and I've been hooked on juggling ever since.

I've dabbled in all sorts, including balloon modelling, stilt walking, magic, fire performing, and I've gone on to work in all kinds of places, pretty much just having fun, and making myself and other people smile.

"Working with Pyrofinalia at the Black Sheep Collective has been awesome!"

It's the first time I've been involved with performing actual routines to large audiences. It's a genuine rush to pull off a professional fire show, and you're always looking to make each one better than the last. It's a great way to relax, and a marvellous way to earn a living.

There is something deeply unifying about the juggling community, which I've never experienced elsewhere. Walking into a hall at any juggling convention, you'll see many many people doing ridiculous tricks you'll think you can never learn. These are likely to be some of the best jugglers in the world, but if you're serious about learning, they will always give up some of their time to explain what on earth is going on and help you start to figure things out.

It doesn't seem to matter what your preferred toy is, if it's balls, staff, hoop, poi, clubs, whips, diablo, devil stick or fire fans. Making crazy patterns in the air, linking them together and making them flow, is a great way to spend your time, and it's a great community to be a part of.

Quite a long time ago, I decided that fitting some heavy duty speakers into my stilts would be a great thing to do, and a couple of weeks ago, I actually got round to building some. These are surprisingly loud, and with a bit of luck and a funky disco outfit, I'm hoping to jump in on a few carnivals and a few festivals this year, busting out some ridiculously cheesy disco beats!

"Anyway, live long and juggle you lovely people, and if anyone asks how your juggling's going, make sure you say, 'up and down!'"

If you'd like to book the lovely Chris Parker or any of our other amazing performers for your event in Milton Keynes then do give me a call on 01908 804257 , fill out and send the form at the bottom of this blog post, or click the Facebook Messenger link and let's chat.

Until next time ...
