We thought that this week, you'd like to meet some of our awesome artists and hear about their performance experience.
Dawn - Guitarist
Dawn began playing music at the age of 10, when her parents, fed up of listening to the recorder, sent her off for piano lessons. She picked up a guitar at the age of 17, gave up for a while, then started playing again in 2016. She did her first open mic in March 2017 and has not looked back since.
As well as a range of covers, she writes songs based on her own experiences and emotions, and even a year ago, never thought she'd be performing them to people who would want to listen! She uses music as therapy and as a way to express herself, as well as for fun!
Written up in the local press recently, the journalist said, "Dawn is a talented singer/songwriter who captures the essence of her songs through beautiful vocals and guitar playing. As well as a plethora of covers taking you through many genres of music Dawn really comes to life through her songwriting proving she is a true and talented artist. Her writing is a letter to the soul drawing on her own experiences and leaves her heart on the page and instilled in the minds of her captive audiences."
Rosemary - Violinist
Rosemary has been playing the violin since the age of seven. She always loved classical music, and was inspired by Vivaldi's Four Seasons for many years! She loves hearing people play the violin and thinks it's the loveliest instrument.
There are so many incredible violinists out there, but she has been particularly inspired by Itzhak Perlman and Nigel Kennedy. Itzhak Perlman for his incredible dedication and passion for music and Nigel Kennedy for the sheer energy and fun he puts into his performances. She dreams of being able to play like either of these musicians one day!
Other than classical music, she also loves folk music and feels that there's nothing more thrilling than playing a good old Hungarian folk song like Monti's 'Czardas'! Busking is very new to her and she's been very humbled by the appreciation and generosity shown by the public! She wants to put a smile on your face and to be able to share her love for music with the wider population.
