The successful bid for £75,600.00 will be used to set up and run a new two-year programme called CR8 Community. This ambitious programme will empower local people, volunteers and groups to creatively engage with artistic, cultural and social projects and activities.

Based at our award-winning Social Enterprise flagship, Bar Bar Black Sheep in Wolverton's Town Square, there will be a significant increase in free sessions and workshops open to all to participate in.

We are also keen to hear from groups and individuals who would like to start something new, plan some exciting projects and take the opportunity to design and lead activities that directly address issues and causes they feel strongly about.

A whole new range of volunteering roles will be opened up as well as opportunities for individuals to gain accreditation and qualifications. The funding has also been key to developing the rest of the spaces at Bar Bar Black Sheep, opening up more rooms and facilities for the community to access.

This work will continue through June to develop a media suite, studio space, kitchen and production office. The programme will also host several large scale community focused days, utilising the town square just outside the coffee shop. These days will be a fantastic opportunity to bring the town's residents and visitors together, in a central space, celebrating and showcasing the unique mix of cultures and people we have in Wolverton.

I'm so pleased the National Lottery Community Fund backed the idea of CR8 Community. It's inspiring to see a funder get behind a people-led movement and programme.

Putting people and creatives at the heart of what we do has always been a priority for the Black Sheep Collective. The next two years will be exciting, challenging, but above all, meaningful to all involved."
